| AT&T ENRICH is a partnership between AT&T,
the Illinois State Board of Education, the Chicago Public Schools and the Archdiocese
of Chicago Catholic Schools.
The AT&T ENRICH program’s major objectives are
to:
- Produce a new high school biology curriculum that
incorporates engaged-learning principles.
- Use technology as an enabler for student
learning.
Over a three-year period (1997-2000), approximately
eighty teachers from the Chicago Public Schools and the Archdiocese of
Chicago Catholic Schools participated in summer training programs in the use
of technology, engaged learning and biology curriculum development.
During the summer of 2000, twenty-four of these
teachers, worked together to review and evaluate over 170 lesson
written during the first three years of the project. As a result, they
edited and/or re-wrote the best ones and have produced 84 noteworthy
lessons that integrate biology, technology and engaged learning.
