Each class member will join or
be assigned to a collaborative team. Each team will be responsible for the development of
an instructional packet to suit the needs of a specific group of students, covering at
least 4 lessons. Collaborative planning time will be included in the class
sessions. One write-up of your team's packet must be submitted with the final presentation
during the our last 2 class sessions. Team members will receive individual grades based on
an evaluation by the instructor as well as their team members. In addition, each team
member will receive a composite grade based on a n evaluation of its oral and written
project. There should be one lesson plan for every participant. Lessons must be targeted
to at least one of the main subject areas (e.g. Language Arts, Science, Math, Social
Studies, etc.). The unit of 4-5 lessons should incorporate at least 2 content areas (e.g.
Science, Math). The unit should include a cover page with the names of all the
participants. Individual lessons do not need to be labeled with author's name. The
lessons should follow one major theme and be constructed in such a way that a novice
should be able to pick up the instructional packet and duplicate the lesson. All
lessons must incorporate the use of the Internet and any other technology. The
instructional packet must include a description of the student population, detailed lesson
plan, materials, Internet sites, and method of evaluation. Use Educating with the Internet
p. 193-328 as a reference or a springboard for ideas. |
